Fermin Mize is a passionate pickleball player and a key figure behind Paddle Pickler. With six years of playing experience, Fermin has achieved a 5.0 player skill rating. His love for racquet sports extends beyond pickleball, as he also enjoys tennis and padel.

Additionally, Fermin also owns a pickleball court in Florida, where he often hosts games and fosters a vibrant local pickleball community. This is one of places that Paddle Pickler's Testing Product team use for testing new paddles, balls, bag & shoes.

How I Realized the Importance of the Right Paddle

"When I first started playing pickleball, I thought my experience with other racquet sports like tennis and padel would make the transition easy. I chose a heavy paddle from Joola, assuming that the extra weight would give me more power, just as it did in tennis. However, I quickly found myself struggling to keep up with the game. My shots were inconsistent, and I found it particularly challenging to execute dinks and hits with precision. At the time, I didn’t realize that the heavy paddle was the source of my difficulties.

One day, during a friendly match, a fellow player offered me his paddle to try. It was significantly lighter than mine, and I was skeptical at first. But the difference was immediate and remarkable. Suddenly, my shots were more controlled, and I found it much easier to execute delicate dinks and powerful hits. The lighter paddle allowed for quicker reactions and better maneuverability, transforming my playing experience.

As pickleball became more popular, many of my friends started asking for my advice on choosing the right paddle. Recognizing the widespread need for reliable information, I decided to test and share my findings with the broader community. This experience was a turning point for me. I realized how crucial it is to choose the right equipment in pickleball. The right paddle can significantly enhance your performance and make the game more enjoyable. Since then, I have been passionate about testing and finding the best paddles, understanding that the right choice can make all the difference in a player's game."
