"How do you start with Pickleball?"

I'll never forget my first game of pickleball. As someone who had always played tennis, pickleball quickly caught my interest, but the transition wasn’t as smooth as I expected. It all started at a local court where my friends and I, including Marlys Coon and Fermin Mize, decided to give it a try. Despite my confidence from years of tennis, I was humbled on the pickleball court. I realized then that pickleball, although similar, was a completely different game requiring its own set of skills.

Determined to get better, I started playing regularly with Marlys and Fermin, squeezing in 8-10 games each week. The more we played, the more we fell in love with the game. In just two years, I managed to achieve a 5.0 player skill rating. But our passion for pickleball didn’t stop there. We developed a keen interest in the equipment, particularly paddles.

Every week, Marlys, Fermin, and I would test out different paddles, analyzing their performance and discussing their strengths and weaknesses. This weekly ritual not only helped us improve our game but also sparked the idea for something bigger. We realized that many players, like my brother who once bought unsuitable equipment due to misleading reviews, needed reliable information.

It's incredibly rewarding to share our journey and passion with others, helping them find the right equipment and improve their skills. With Paddle Pickler, we’re not just playing a game we love; we’re building a community where every player can thrive.
